MJJA & Stop RED salutes Black History Month 2024. The theme is "African Americans and the Arts", which explores the key influence African Americans have had in the fields of "visual and performing arts, literature, fashion, folklore, language, film, music, architecture, culinary, and other forms of cultural expression." Presented by Dr. Simmons. We also discuss "Black Fathers Speak: Raising Sons during America's Racial Turmoil." Dr. Summer Johnson, Guest Moderator, interviews a panel of two black fathers - Nakia Douglas ans Alphonso Ivy, as they speak about proactive strategies to educate and protect their sons during America's racial turmoil and civil rights repeals. They share their fears and means to mediate.
