RED Lunchtime Learning - August

with Alana Hickman and Dr. Juanita Cleaver Simmons

August 21, 2024

Topics Discussed: Court Appointed Special Advocates in Missouri. Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA®) volunteers provide best-interest advocacy through two primary goals: 1) To help ensure that a child’s needs are being met while in foster care (under the court’s jurisdiction); and 2) To advocate for permanency on behalf of a child. With support from local CASA program staff, over 88,000 CASA volunteers across the country have helped amplify the voices of one of our most vulnerable populations. This presentation will discuss CASA in Missouri and the ways that our volunteers join the case team to help children during their time in foster care.
